SOME THOUGHTS ON TEACHING MUSIC

Besides the obvious qualification of my Master’s Degree in piano, I bring some unique abilities to the teaching of piano and guitar. I suffered through some pretty bad training when I was very young, which left me with some early gaps in my technique and knowledge. Through lots of hard work, and a professional career that began when I was 15 years old, I was able to fill those gaps, and, in the process gained a lot of knowledge in how to learn and how to teach.

My approach is purely practical. If you have a problem with your playing, I can show you how to fix it in the quickest way possible. If you’re just starting out, I’ll see that you don’t miss any of the necessary fundamentals to become an excellent player.

I love to teach. It’s a chance for me to share the endless riches of music with my students. Nothing gives me more pleasure than to see my students flourish and enjoy playing.
